Had a drive in a Fury ages ago, astonishing speed and vibration! Made my glasses fall off!

Basically lets you stick on four carbs! My Dad has one on his Rover V8 and the sound is amazing (and also the fuel consumption!). Great fun balancing four carbs I can tell you !

Quality fella!

I've had this dilema myself, TVR, Cobra replica, GT40 replica, Caterfields etc.

I narrowed the list down to a straight six TVR, the earlier ones had 'interesting' handling! A V8 Cobra replica with Jag running gear or a Westfield SEight(scary scary monster)

I've gone for the Tiv because of looks including performance, more of an emotive choice, and I haven't got a garage yet!

Now all you need to do is get it finished by June 15th fella!

Sammyc - noooooo! I haven't built the thing yet - don't tempt me with upgrades already.

Rich, I discounted a Westie, the chassis setup means the engine is too far forward and it ruins the handling (which is the reason for buying a 7 in the first place). Cobra reps can be absolute dogs if you don't buy the right one I'm told.

Mark - Should be interesting when its finished! I'd thought of a similar style car but the T350 is just soooooooo gorgeous I trouser movments just looking at them

Have you done this before?

I built a Westfield some years back, figured it'd take about 3 months.

Finished it one year later ( I reckon about two hours per day, do the math !!!!)

Admittedly my first time to do a job like this, and I did get better at it (having to redo stuff got less and less as I went on) but there were times when I could have cheerfully poured petrol over the bloody thing, lit a match and gone down the pub.

I did get there - the car was fantastic by the way - but it sure was a long and winding road.

You sure u want to do this?

When I finished the project I knew that car driving was definitely in my top ten of fab activities, and that car building wasn't even on the scope.

Very true - I've been told this too

I've driven a couple of Cobra reps, both very good to be fair, although the legroom in both was pretty tight. I'm not particularly tall, but I've got long legs!

The thing about buying a replica, is that unless you're an expert, it's very difficult to assess total build quality - and hence the cost of upkeep. That is unless you build it yourself!

I'm after the straight six purely because of the car it comes in rather than not wanting a V8. The Chimera is a bit too old and soft for me, the Griffith is a bit too old, the Cerbera has a roof!

I want one with a good boot, and that you can take the roof off.........which equals Tuscan I like the Tamora, but the boot disapears when you take the roof off

Steve - when do you pick your's up? I bet you can't wait!

Not built from the floor up, no. But I pretty much maintained the racecar myself with a little help from my postman (who is also a welder) and a couple of other people who gave advice and assistance when needed. this included engine-out work and a top-end strip and rebuild.

I know what's involved - which is why I'm starting this 2 years before the S2000 goes - I haven't set my sights on a completion date and I am determined not to cut corners.
However, the engine fettling will go to a V8 specialist (I'll assemble but they can set it up for me) and I'm sorely tempted to get the bodywork (and especially the doors) done by Fisher themselves. So I'm not doing the whole thing on my own.

I like this kind of stuff, and I like the idea of seeing the car take shape bit by bit and knowing I have done it mostly myself. I think the notion of not setting my expectations as to when I'll be behind the wheel should help stave off the frustration. That and a set of air tools, which I've coveted for a long time and just needed an excuse to buy.

So yes, I think I'm pretty sure this is something I'll enjoy.
