Come on guys - the Japanese can't all be wrong ... or can they?

I will dig up some links to owners sites in Japan with English translation.

You guys have got me thinking if it really is worth it!

Take a look at this guys site - it's got loads of info on loads of different mods. incl: oil catch tank, spoon tower brace, x-brace etc etc

How's it going N4S.
Been looking over the linked sites as I'm curious about this earthing business also. Improving the earth to various sensors and a manifold shield (correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't make sense. This suggests the S has bad earthing for which the kit compensates for from the start. When I worked on my S, I couldn't help but notice the amount of earth clusters bolted around the car-to chassis. There's no way Honda would have left an earth out. Unless the Japanese have stumbled across by chance an increase in power, my only guess is that a sensor or similar changes characteristics when linked directly to earth?
Also the lad on the above link page has given a example of a bad amp installation with regards to fuse location. Not wishing to nit-pick.
Prove us wrong and hook it up.

The earthing you are referring to is not to the manifold shield but to the manifold service bolt and the intake manifold centre bolt.

I will post some pics and full review as soon as I install it.

I Don't want to knock any one but here's my view, but before I do some background.

I'm Qualified in the following areas.

Engine diagnostics
Electronics and microprocessors in engine management
Fuel injection systems inc Turbocharging
batteries and charging

all the above I achieved distinctions in.

Now my view.............I can't see these doing anything, this isn't because I don't want them to work, it's because I can't see a reason for them.

First an engine will run smooth because it is delivering equal power from all cylinders, the fuel and ignition are at optimum for that RPM and the engine mounts match the 1st and 2nd harmonics that the engine produces.

How can cables change any of these parameters?

Second, an engine produces more power by produceing more torque, if you want more power, you have to increase the RPM or increase the amount of air getting into the engine, or reduce the effort required to remove the gases in the engine, or reduce the pumping loses.

How can cables change any of these parameters?

In my opinion if there is nothing wrong with the original earths, then this is snake oil.

Hope this helps...probably not!

Earthing leads = no (or less) static buildup. Are there any components in the engine bay that are susceptible to static buildup?

Thanks FOE!

That's the Japanese site I was looking for. This earthing system is very popular in Japan and it gives a detailed explanation of what it does.
