The misus drives it most of the time, I get it when it needs washing, Tyres, servicing etc.
I have discovered your tyre wear problem, the misus is ragging it when you are not there.

The bridgestones are actually quite a soft compound, a lot softer than most other road tyres.

10k from a set of rears is not bad at all.

Bridgestones are indeed a lot softer than most "mainstream" tyres found on euroboxes, but Toyos are even softer and hence you should expect lower mileage. I've about 5mm left on my T1-Rs with approx 6,000 miles done since easter, including one track day. Considering new tyres now, as the cold/wet performance has become unpredictable again.

The other thing you need to consider is the condition of your tyres. It's not necessarily about tread depth, as tyres are designed to withstand a certain number of heat cycles before the rubber compound becomes compromised.

If you do one long (500 mile) journey, this is one heat cycle, but so is your 30 min comute to work. If they don't feel right, or start to show signs of degredation (cracks, hardening etc) just bin them.
