Potential issue with alignment and / or tyres
Back on the 26/02/04 I replaced the rears on my S. Potenza SO2s as loved / hated by the world and the recognised tyre for the car.
Jowever when I saw MrV, dreamer and Vixen on Saturday for a bit, James asked me when I was changing my rears as the outer thirds were starting to look a little thin.
but I've only done about 1500 to 2000 miles at the most since then and I have hardly been ragging sideways round corners now have I? (Still geting the "feel" back for her).
Any way I will need a new set on the rear ASAP, bt due to uneven tyre wear, the inner most third is like brand new, is this an alignment issue? Is Brian Marshall still around as I really do respect his opinion.
I have phoned Trident Honda and they said to drop in and they'll take a look which will happen tomorrow. Surely they should sort alignment out after the work they did at Xmas and replace the tyres?
Your thoughts please

What they should have done and what they ACTUALLY did are probably two different things, Chris. Do you know for a fact that the alignment was checked after your little off? I would have thought they would have to have checked it, but you never know.....
I'm certainly no expert but it does sound similar to previous cases posted about on here which were then found to be attributable to alignment.

When I asked a very direct question I was given a very direct answer of
"Yes it has been laser aligned" by the head of service
Of course - he could have just been told that

Sounds like the rear toe may be out, assuming you haven't bent anything. I'd get it checked if I were you (my rears feather a bit on the outside edge - I think this may be due to some back-end drifting - but the wear rate is even accross the whole width and I'v only taken 2-3 mm off them in 2k miles).

eibutler had some horrendous rear tyre wear after his car was repaired following an off - was due to a part/joint being broken/bent IIRC, rather than the alignment.

If they had the alignment done, they should have provided you with the printout - or they should have a record of the settings applied to the car. Ask them to check it and show you the print out from the laser machine. Compare that to the Optimum settings, and see how out it is. Optimum settings are on the Tech FAQ
Not sure where Brian is, not seen him post for a bit

New dealer, one trip for all the suspension bolts to be retorqued and it's gone.
The trye wear I had was purely down to dodgy alignment. Got the geometry checked by a specialist and no problems since.
Don't trust the dealer, they usually just send it along to the local alignemnt shop.
