Polystyrene In Rear Cluster!

Polystyrene In Rear Cluster!
Hi,
I recently cracked the lens on my rear cluster, anyway a new one arrived today - it's immaculate BUT it has some bits of polystyrene behind the lens!! How did that get there? thought it was a sealed unit. Anyway it looks rubbish and it's annoying me so how do I get it out?
I've looked at taking the lens off but it looks awkward and I don't want to break it, are there any hidden holes that I could hoover it out through??
Thanks!

There will be a small 'breather' hole somewhere.

IIRC you can take it to bits but it involves a heat gun, some decent plumbers black mastic and a LOT of patience. Personally I wouldn't bother and I'm confident I could do it without breaking anything.
You can take the lights off the car, remove the bulbs and holders and dry things out that way ..... and if you're careful with a powerful hoover you might just get the polystyrene out too.

Not with the 04 on cars Nick, the LED assembly in the brake clusters is a royal PITA to remove.
