Default Pollen Filter

Thought I would sort a few things on the S as she approaches her 6th birthday.

New striker plates will be fitted soon but I thought I would take a look at getting a replacement pollen filter having never replaced it.

So picked one up from the local dealer £22 all in after S2KUK discount.

Part number 79831 - S2A - 003 (2005 car)

Really easy to replace :

1, lift bonnet
2, remove weather strip that runs along the top of the bonnet (tip use a socket set under the clip - there are 5/6 of them - to gently pop them out)
3, lift black plastic strip along the bottom of the windscreen on the battery side
4, un-clip white holder
5, un-clip white (probably black) filter from it's surround
6, clip in new filter
7, clip in holder under the plastic strip
8, replace weather strip

Job done!

Here is a pic of my old filter.....

I've done few in various cars, in some the airflow change was noticeable.

I did mine last week. It did look pretty manky, but then it probably is 11 1/2 years old.

Car seems to perform and handle just the same.

I'm not sure what you'd notice.

Thought it might quiet down the blower or make it more effective that all.

If nothing - no point
