On a more serious note.
If the filter is really bad it will impair the function of the heater and air con, in warmer weather the spores and bacteria it traps will multiply and can get through the filter, not nice.
Some say take the filter out completely, not good, what happens then is the heater matrix becomes the filter trapping bugs and crud and that’s going to be far more difficult to clean!

I have just bought one following MI5's recommendation in post 12. Obviously much cheaper than Honda, and a first class, signed for, post free, delivery by the supplier!
I'm in no hurry to fit it as the current filter was changed three years and 20,000 miles ago.

Excellent, got mine too and fitted ! My new air filter cone arrived today as well so yet another job done, 9 days into ownership and things are progressing!
