I take no offence at any person's opinion on the value. I got it free anyway

Not trying to slag off the OP it's a nice plate but just keep it and enjoy it.

The prices people have posted are advertised prices not what they'll sell for. My mate bought 8 XXX (won't post the actual initials) at a dvla auction last week for under £3k!! Everyone told him it would go for nearer £10k, my point proven.
depends how desireable X9's become!.. it was maybe a bit of a steep guess though

You never know - when the X9 comes out we might be back into another economic boom (cough cough).
Back to the days when A1, FU2 and 5EXY fetched a princely sum Can't remember the figure put on these years ago although it'll certainly get you something rather special!!

That's true actually, H.

This could be the 3rd one it goes on

I'm going to sort it tomorrow, I'm inspired it's gathering dust otherwise...

UME 1 M once owned by the comedian Jimmy jones respaced to U ME 1M, got him pulled several times.
Or the page 3 girl with 50 5exy
Or Lee Evens gag, "Just got a personalised plate for the car, all I have to do now is change my name to TXC 483Y"

Seriously though I paid £1000 for a 1 plate from DVLA, and I know the chances of finding any one with the same initals who would want it are less than slim. Any plate is only worth what you are willing to pay for it.

I remember getting inspiration from your plate, Mark. I once saw X9K RPM for £420 if that helps?

DVLA usually charges about that for a plate.

Bit more if it's car-specific; X9 BMW might be worth more, but frankly, personal plates have been done to death by now & are too often rather gauche.

I wonder how the traders stay in business; I suppose you've only got to fine one utter mug per now & again to break even.
