Great pics, great way to travel.

How much did the trip cost you, just out of curiosity. Thinking of doing a similar trip with the missus next summer.
Did 3200 miles and spent 500 quid on fuel and toll roads, avoided most French ones on the way there and back, basically everything on 'route national' except round the few bigger cities you pass.

I was expecting it to be more than that, but I guess the misses driving it extra carefully makes up for me thrashing it through the mountains, hence the mpg was still quite good.

I would say I was drunk when I suggested the tunnel run but I wasn't If any of you get the chance to do it while the roads are empty (of course obeying the speed limit ) then do it. Sky+'ed Quantum of Solance last night to see if I recognise any of the tunnels (opening scenes filmed at Lake Garda)

Will start a thread along with Lloyd, Rebecca, Al and Sue with pics from our trip to France, Italy, Austria, Germany and Belgium.

Glad you enjoyed your trip Winfreak. Thoroughly enjoyed ours but I agree with Lloyd, I will stick to Northern Italy in future as I found Southern Italy not as pretty as the brochures suggest, or at least not when you are driving.

Think our trip which was for 17 nights cost about £2k per person.

I'm not even bothering to work out the fuel etc but there was one point where I nearly asked everyone else if their fuel gauge was going down as quickly as mine
