There is a reason behind my chosen approach that i have explained via pm to a few on here.
Shaddow now has the engine and is going to document the strip for me with photos. He is an engineer by trade so should be sufficient for evidential ourposes although tom having seen it should be enough. The engie is scrap and the bits that will show what has happened are in my possession.
I will pm shaddow and ask him to take a sample of oil. How much would you need mate? and thanks for the kind offer.

Im pretty sure i will get nowhere talking to te bloke. On the ovcassions he has replied, when i asked about why i wasnt told about major engine work, his reply was "well i didnt not tell you" which in its self should go for me if it ever went as far as court. Im not sure where i stand with approaching honda direct as i wasnt their customer, he was. But then surely their work should be guaranteed on the car not te owner.

An update on the Engine situation. Engine mount received and ready to receive the engine, however it seems to mount the engine, I would need to use M8 fixings which would put huge strain on the threads with potential thread failure. Due to this, I am working on making a plate to bolt onto the engine using all the bell housing fixings and then bolting the plate to the engine mount using some stronger M12 fixings.
I should with a bit of luck be able to complete most of this over the weekend. Then just to get some mates to assist with holding the engine while I mount it.

Ill start taking some initial pictures this weekend as I start stripping of some of the ancillaries.

As for an oil sample, let me know how much is needed and im sure there should still be some left after the engine decided to pour some out over my garage floor.

I'm not really sure what an oil sample is going to tell you when you have ability to look at the engine. Unless I've missed something of course.

Jesus, just read this whole thread...can't believe the hassle and heart ache you've had within minutes of buying your car.

I think you were the chap who wanted to come and look at my car with a view to buying?

Glad you have a replacement engine in it now and I hope you've had some time to enjoy it since.
