Personalised Number Plates
I've never been a fan of personalised plates in the past ("waste of money, self-indulgent, etc...etc...") but after seeing some pics on this site I'm going to contradict myself and admit that they can look great.
I'm wanting to avoid the "S2000" style plate in order to be a little different and, more importantly, save lots of money. I've done a couple of searches and the best/cheapest I've found so far is "SM04 JDM" which is a snip at

Is this for your MY2000? If so, that plate won't be legal - you can't have a plate that makes the car appear younger than it is and your suggestion certainly does that.

Oh, and S Marshall is a very common name you know.
Someone on here already has S200 0SM. He crashed the car a while back but I think he was keeping hold of the plate in case he bought another one.

I was only thinking the other day that he hadn't posted in quite some time.

Well, you learn something new every day!
Thanks Roadkill, I wasn't aware of that. It was in the back of my mind though, as an afterthought.
I'm sure if I had always been a personalised plate fan then I would have known that.

Did he? He kept that quiet (or at least it passed me by if he posted about it, anyway)

Oh, come to think about it, I do remember. I thought you meant more recently than that, and that might explain why he hadn't posted in a while.
Stuart never had much to say on the "main" board but posted some interesting stuff in Off Topic.
