Default Personal Registration Plate question

Hi all,

If the car is selling with the personal registration plate, where can I have the information about the real registration plate? In the case, I want to check whether the year of the car is like what the adv says.

Another thing is what should I be careful about buying a s2k with personal plate e.g. any important paper work? Let's say they sell the car with the plate as well

Thank you all for your great help again.

Many thanks

You should just be able to ask what the old plate was, I expect they will tell you.
If they have any sort of decent amount of paperwork they should have the old MOTs and stuff with the old numberplate.

The V5 will have the vehicle year. Or are you wanting to know before you go and view it?

What's the reg number? There are ways to check online.

You can check the year of the car with the private reg the car currently has.

When a car has a private reg on it all the DVLA paper work will change accordlingly. So you have no need to worry.

Check the service book, it's probably in the front of that.

If you HPi check the car with its current registration number it will automatically give and check all of the previous registration numbers that the vehicle has had in its life, i have a printout on my desk at the moment for a car that is 6 years old & has had 4 different cherrished registration numbers on it

The year of manufacture is on the VIN. Just ask to see it.
The car may be registered that year or the next year.

see here .. scroll down.

if you know the car reg and the car make, the direct.gov vehicle enquiry webpage will give you the information you need whether or not it is on private plate
