People telling me to slow down
#11
I've had silly old farts coming in the oppostie direction gesticulating at me to slow when a) I've not been going that fast (65-70) and b) how the **** can they tell what's going on behind the wheel of my car anyway?
If they concentrated as much on their driving as they did on other road users, place would be a bit safer IMO

Just that day. i was cruising along around 20mph, when an old trout decided to jaywalk, and told me off for going to too fast !
I had my airfilter box out, and granted not in the fastest color
for fcuk's sake ! you shouldn't have jay walk then !

You gotta educate them. If you get the opportunity just ask them what speed they think you are doing then state what speed you are really doing.
I think there was something on scoobynet of someone being reported to the police because they 'heard' him going to fast! How can you hear what speed they are doing??
Basically it's people's sill perceptions. If it's loud you must be going fast type logic.

Of course you could always switch the speedo to KM/h and really screw with their minds!!!

I once drove past a WPC standing at the side of the road (she was "guarding" a minor looking RTA that was being recovered).
Fortunately I had seen it ahead (usually quiet open stretch where I would be flying), so I slow down to practically walking pace as I pass, and she still gesticluates at me and shouts at me to slow down
Ther S definitely looks faster than it actually is
