Painted the OEM 16" wheels dark grey
Well a time consuming week of work on the S has completed.
I gave its 6 month service (I do 'em myself) and replaced the discs/pads and added goodridge braided hoses
So as part of my cleanup of the S I painted the wheels a dark Grey. Wasn't sure how they would turn out, but they are growing on me. I've aways thought the at 16" wheels looks too small, but this colour does a good job hiding the size.
Next week, the calipers will be painted black.
What do you think
Dave

Looks like someone stole your wheels. Black cars need light coloured wheels...

I think it looks really sweet for a car with 16"s on
All you need now is something red in colour low down on the car to tie in with the seats and tail lights. Ideally a set of Brembo red calipers would do the job, or maybe red lug nuts

I did them myself. Only cost me the cost of the primer/paint/clearcoat.
Its the prep work that does it. Lots of sanding with 80/240/400 and higher. Probably about 6-8 hours of sanding in total, and about a week to to paint including all the drying times.
Usually waited 24-36 hours between coats. All in all I did it for about 25 quid (35 euro) on 6 year old wheels that had a good few scuff and the usual corrosion
As for the calipers. I don't want to draw too much of attention to them, so probably red is out of the question. At the moment I deciding between black or bright silver. Cannot make my mind up though
