Paint match problem
Just having rear bumper repaired and respayed on my 2001 S2. Paint shop cant match the paint. Its standard silverstone, factory paint. Its not an import either. Anyone else had problems with silver paint match?

Get a proper paint shop. OEM paints should not be all that difficult.
Where in the country are you, sure plenty of people can give good recommendations.
If your paintshop cant match it, ask for a refund and get it done properly. (Cheaper is not always better)

Can't say that I did when I had the horrendous body kit previous owner fitted removed from my 2002 S2 in same colour as yours.
Had front and rear bumpers and lower sills repainted, colour match looks fine to me and body shop in Hereford made a good job in all well pleased

There are three different fleck sizes and two different bases for Silverstone, some share the same code. But you have an early one so getting the right one shouldn't be a problem, remember to give the year along with the code.

So the body shop agreed the colour match was not correct on the sill and rear bumper they had sprayed. Their colour looks like SEbring Silver, when it should be Silverstone. They got the paint supplier to analyze existing paint on wing with magic eye, and then the body shop resprayed it. Still looks the same. Looks even worse in bright sunlight. They must being mixing it wrong? Going to get a second and third opinion elsewhere. What a fuking nightmare!!!

FWIW, when we had a local meet (Canada) it was apparent that the Silverstone on MY00 and '01 has a different shade of silver. One of the guys bought a HT that came painted, it didn't match his car but matched mine.
