Screw your insurer. Go direct to his.

Tell your insurer you want to drop the claim with them, and you will take it up directly with there insurer.

Please take this advice with a pinch of salt, there is a lot to it. And may end up in court.

But this is what i did when i was not happy with the actions of my insurer when claiming against the 3rd party.

Money grabbing sons of B1tch3s, Im gonna start my own insurance company, just for S2000's called " Wntfkuovr "the state of the insuracne world at the moment, it hardly ever worth claiming unless its a bloody write off.

I really don't see how changing a cars colour changes the risk for the insurance company!
Of course it does.

Yellow/Tango/Lime green I'd say are far less likely to be stolen than silver/blue/black etc. Hard for thief to sell on you see.

I'm assuming you didn't get the other drivers, "some git...", details or you would be claiming off of him and his insurers... assuming he has any!

oh, i got the other guys details, he was a nice guy actually. he's insured etc, so that shouldnt be a problem.

i also had legal protection, so have been considering the going to the other guys insurance company to get the money - i will wait and see what they say. it was a shock to me that MY insurerers pay out even though its his fault - you live and learn.

WTF? Some guy stuffs it up your back end and you end up claiming off your own insurance (presumably knock for knock)

Surely the fault lies with the other party and hence his insurance should cough up.

What are the circumstances, is it not clearly his fault?

the legal protection is next to useless too, i tryed to use it and they sent a letter back saying there wasn't a high chance of winning so they wouldn't risk it!

If the accident wasn't your fault and is a non fault claim, your insurer pays you, your insurer than claims of the other insurer. If the other insurer pays out to your insurance company then the claim goes down as non fault and you don't lose any no claims.

Insurers always make a low offer to start with. You need to negotiate the offer upwards. Prooving the value of your car by showing similar cars advertised in autotrader etc is a good way of doing it.

yup, me too.

they said that the repair center wouldnt fix the car as the colour is not standard and i dont know the paint code, so they were going to make me a cash offer to get it fixed elsewhere

which frankly i think is a huge cop out.
