I agree you should drive using your nut, but the vtec monster is out there.

i do try not to put myself in a situation that i wouldn't be able to get my self out of, i did see these walkers and were already aware they were on the other side of the road, and that the road had no potholes, drains oil etc. the speeds were low enough to be able to stop should i need to.

people driving at more than 30 mph down that road, with a short stretch exception, are a feckin menace

I walk down it sometimes and I pay more insurance on more cars than most people, so I think my rights are fairly sound
No offence taken by anyone with conflicting views by the way, this thread is asking a question after all. Here's my take on the responses given:

Gad, I would say the speed limit on your road is wrong. If the road appears clear and is rated at 60mph, then people have no reason not to drive at that speed. If there is a stable where horses regularly move about from on the road, then this should be clearly signposted to make the driver aware.

As for treating blind bends like junctions, I believe that would cause more accidents than anything else! Like treating roundabouts as stop-signs, it's not highway code practise, and it's not even common sense.

Blind bends + 60mph + no pavements = not a very clever place to walk.

And horses have every right to be on the road IMO, so long as they at least pay insurance like the rest of us.

Don't think the Saxo/Burberry thing was very nice though, in jest or otherwise. I think I've displayed on more than one occasion that despite tongue in cheek humour and slightly contreversial views, I'm far from being a chav.

Just taken a roasting at a meeting, so hope I don't appear too hostile in my response.
