optimum bitrate for MP3
I know this is subjective, but
after spending quaite a large amount of cash on speakers and HU, I was wondering what the optimum bitrate is for MP3?
I'm looking for a good trade off between quality and number of albums on one CD.
I know there are varous sample rates for MP3, can't remember them offhand, but I image there is a point at which further quality is unnecassary (as you can't differentiate it) for car audio applications.
My ICE upgrade is
LUCID - Kenwood speaker package (front and rear)
ALPINE 7984RB
Thanks

Just a quick note on a piece of kit i saw in a car audio mag.
There is an "mp3 jukebox" now available that can be mounted anywhere in the car with absolutely NO wiring at all. It transmits a radio signal that can be picked up by ANY headunit. The thing only costs

192 is good enough and kind enough on space. 256 or 320 if you are really fussy but in the S i doubt the difference could be heard - not by my wax filled lugs anyway So I wouldnt have thought the space it eats up in storage would be worth it.

I find that I can hear a difference between 320 Kbps and 192 Kbps when there's a lot going on in the soundstage and when the top's up. With VTEC going on I can't hear anything
However, all my stuff is encoded at 320 because:
1) I've got six discs to fill on the changer
2) I can get 70+ tracks onto each disc even at 320
3) Most importantly, because I can!!!!

Griffin Technology iTrip - http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip/
This equals an MP3 wireless solution.

frankyknuckles, did you do the install yourself? I've been considering getting rear speakers but would need to pay someone to install them.
Also, how much sounds do you actually get from the rears with the seats all the way back?
