Oops! Sorry to all the S2k owners!
Just picked up my S last night and on the way home I came across a MGF Trophy 160.
Going through a couple of roundabouts I kept pace but couldn't really gain any ground on him.
I think he might be dissing the S2000 on the MG Forum (if there is such a thing) as we speak.
I guess I need to learn to drive the car properly, ie. really wring its neck. It is my first V-Tec engine. I am more used to having mid-range punch.
Must even the score if I come across him again.

I recently bought my new SK2, and have been in the same situation a few times now, even being passed by a few diesels, found myself in the wrong gear, revs to low and left behind! quite embarrasing really.
My last car was a V8 TVR, I could put my foot down in any gear and leave almost anything, without the need for going down the box to get it over 6k. To be honest its taking time to adapt to this style of driving, having as you put it "TO WRING ITS NECK" to obtain the desired performance.
I know this car is designed to cope with high revs, but after my last car which would have self destructed at anything even remotely approaching this rev range, its going to take some getting used to..

On my test drive, I persuaded the salesman to let me head for some of my favourite roads. Lots of twisties and good surfaces. We then came back along a motorway.
I'm thinking, this thing is pretty fast and handles well, so asks him if it's okay to VTEC. Yeah go on, floor it he says.
I chickened out at 135 after redlining it all the way.
Drove back to the garage with a huge grin on my face.
The salesman's colleagues ask where he's been (away for over an hour.) " Getting myself scared $h!itless!" was his answer
I ordered the car there and then. One of my better decisions
