One for the FAQ?
Happily, I've sorted out the problems with the 350Z (touch wood that the paint will suffer no long term side effects). The letter that LTB (and others) encouraged me to write really did the trick. Got me thinking - as we're not all high flying legal wizards, perhaps a few basic pointers might be of use on the FAQ if things aren't perfect with your new car.
For example: (lawyers feel free to put me right)
1) A key law you'll need to quote is The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002 (

Nice one!
I hope they sort it out for you.
Actually, I note that Nissans did quite poorly in the TG survey, which is worrying.
Are their dealers a bit crap, or is the Renault factor creeping into the build quality? I do hope not, but I fear so.

Having sad that I've seem what I assume to be SM's Z (complete with Missus SM) waiting for him at the station (I've seen the S as well) and it does look lovely.

what did they do with the Z ?
Build quality is good... paint quality, now that's something else. I can't imagine you stray onto the 350Z forum without good cause, so suffice to say that all anyone talks about is how poor the paint is.
Ian - funnily enough, after all the heart ache, the place they sent it off to for "a professional polish" (not a prostitute from Poland) really came up trumps. At this stage, they certainly don't appear to have caused swirls or thinned/degraded the paint, so I'm happy.
Probably just had some spotty youth go over it with a clay bar

I just had one of those "counterfactual history" muses about Rover merging with Honda instead of BMW:
An S2000 with a Rover K-series engine.......
I don't feel very well......

Since Renault bought a share in the company the build quality has bombed. It is getting better but the new cars use a lot of common parts from Renault
(cheap plastic shite, brake discs and calipers covered in rust before they even get fitted, ect...)
a lot of cars get shipped out with minor faults for the dealers to sort out, so its not really their fault if they get a bad rep.

All those Mackems building Nissans, it's bound to have a negative effect on the company
From the sticks like Northumberland to all the way past Yarm and Hartlepool.
