Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Just tried to take the Exhaust pots off to polish them and .....

<snap> x2

Have tried drilling the sheared-off bolts out of the nut (as you can see) , but they're both FUBAR.

Ordered a couple of replacements - due in on Saturday -

Do you think this was down to corrosion? or will you admit to turning the bolts in the wrong direction?

They were really rusted in. I've taken them off before of course, ...every time making sure that I'd greased them before putting them back. But, with the cold, road salt, grime and everything else, I am just putting it down to ... well, ....it's funny isn't it.....surely there's a better way of attaching these things Mr Honda?

Cover exposed thread of bolt etc with a silicon sealant. Total protection from the elements!

Roadkill,

I done exactly the same, turned the bolt the wrong way on one and it sheered off , I then did the same to the other one and funny enough the same thing happened !!!! I did manage to force them back on the car though, who needs bolts !!!

Taking them off takes about a minute and cleaning them about 2 mins each. I tried with them on but its awkward and you cant get to certian areas, if you do it prob takes longer.

Both of mine sheared off as well. I drilled them out with a very small drill bit.
