Have never noticed CCTV there & the manager didnt mention it but will enquire regardless.
If they dont have CCTV could this be used as a lack of due diligence against Tesco? Aware there are signs effectively saying 'park at your own risk' but no idea how legal they are - is it just a deterent to possible claims, or a bona fide get out clause.
Perhaps Tesco shouldn't sell eggs if consumers cant be responsible???

however, such responsibilities are unlikely to include a requirement to watch over your vehicle or restrict the sale of eggs to possible miscreants
it is good that their reg details were clocked because at the very least you will be able to obtain the name and address of the owner of the vehicle
I would urge you to do this quickly - although the Police will resist
you could use the angle that you wish to pursue a civil claim - regardless of whether they decide to prosecute
the fact is that it will assist your civil claim if a criminal conviction has already been obtained
the bottom line for me would be that once I have their details, I can exact retribution at a time, and in a form of my choosing
regardless of any civil claim or criminal conviction
finally, I agree that there is no reason why their insurer should pay out for what sounds like criminal damage
good luck

lol - agree with 'was once'.
Used to be far nicer....now everyone seems to have moved & used their old property as a buy-to-let! 2 beds, therefore 2 people, 1 parking space....3 cars. But nothing beater / weekend toy, just all beaters!
Makes our close look like a NCP some days.
Ho-hum

Thanks - will keep my fingers crossed!
Having only been on the site a short while, I dont feel right asking for help - but certainly willing to pay to get it done.
The one on the driver's door is the most upsetting; see it every time I approach the car & just 1" higher and it would have hit glass instead!

After 6 yrs or so of company cars, forgot how traumatic this sort of thing is.
Always washed & waxed company vehicle as enjoyed being in something shiny & zero dents etc. Just so low this weekend - unbelievable; keep telling myself they didnt know it would damage the paint, but it doesnt stop the anger!

There may be no CCTV covering the car park but they will have CCTV covering their tills, this will be time stamped. This can be cross referenced with the assailants till receipt to show they bought eggs there.
I would really lean on tesco for them to pay for the repairs. Their customers wilfully damaged your car with Tesco products in their car park while you were shopping buying their products!
