Just caught this thread.

Sorry to read it.

I was gonna suggest, that since the wings bolt on, finding a good s/h silverstone one might be a surprisingly inexpensive repair.

The wing's being repaired as it happens rather than replaced.

It's all under insurance anyway so cost isn't really an issue. For the record though I've been quoted 580 quid labour to repair the wing, replace the bumper, light cluster & wheel arch liner, paint and blend to the door. Parts not included in that estimate

And surprise surprise, she's now denying liability

So I have to pay the excess up front. Joy.

And you've got that witness statement?

An accident I had, the witness was a "automotive accident investigator" for the MOD .. I only realised when I gave the ins comp his details off his business card.

I couldn't stop laughing. Who better to be around when some dozy mare drives into you.

I haven't, no - just spoke to the insurance company and they've written to him requesting it but not received anything back yet.

Only just found this. I feel for you Graham. Fixing a wing on it's own, parts and labour can cost nearly 500....

People that try and turn right from the left hand lane should be shot. In the stomach. Because it takes longer to die.

I once watched a van overtaking parked cars oncoming scrape all the way down the side of the car infront of me at the lights - which then subsequently sped off without stopping

Lucky for the bloke in front I had been watching the accident about to happen and even remembered the vans number plate. Gave him my business card and within a few days received a phone call from the police

She asked for my address and then sent me a witness form to complete. I filled that sucker in with so much detail I felt very chuffed with myself

Never heard back from the cops so can only hope it was enough

I missed this - what an arse. Hope you get it sorted mate. If it's coming off her insurance make sure they don't skimp, eg full alignment, new wheel etc

The wheel's fine and my dealership have done a visual inspection of the suspension and all's good. So much so that a geo check would be chargeable as they don't think it was affected.

So I asked the insurance about that and they said I could obviously go ahead and do it, but if nothing were wrong, I'd have to pay for it
