My car had its first service at 9000 miles with a change to fully synthetic oil....... before the service my S was regularly using around 100ml (one mark on the dip stick) every 250 miles so I had to top up regularly....... but since the oil change I've only used around 50ml in 2500 miles! ie. its gone from using a fair amount to virtually nothing!
Has anyone else had similar experience?

I was wondering if the reduced usage was due to a full sythetic oil being harder to "burn"...... I guess a mineral oil churning round at 9000rpm is liable to physically burn up while a good synthetic won't be destroyed..... hence reduced use?
Before the service/oil change I had no evidence that the oil was leaking so I assume it was consumed by the engine?
