Default Oil use

First 3500 miles. Hard driven.

Not used an ounce of oil. Is this normal?

Yes.
The earlier cars drink the stuff. Yours will hardly touch it.

Do not throw it in the bin! That is illegal, although you're unlikely to be caught. It should be taken to the oil recovery unit at your local recycling centre!

Why dispose of it though? Use it in your oilcan. It might last for years but at least you're getting some use from it.

2000 miles so far, 300ml of oil used (Castrol Magnatec 5W40 as advised and supplied by Honda dealer). 80% taking it easy and 20% hard driving. Oil usage seems roughly on par with Carruthersesq.

The 2004 upwards use almost no oil. But check weekly anyway.

The earlier cars seem to need about 80 litres of oil every 20 miles.

Mine's an 02 and has done 3k since buying it in June and it's needed less than half a litre
