Do not throw it in the bin! 
That is illegal, although you're unlikely to be caught. It should be taken to the oil recovery unit at your local recycling centre!
Why dispose of it though? Use it in your oilcan. It might last for years but at least you're getting some use from it.

2000 miles so far, 300ml of oil used (Castrol Magnatec 5W40 as advised and supplied by Honda dealer). 80% taking it easy and 20% hard driving. Oil usage seems roughly on par with Carruthersesq.
