Default Oil tray

I have to admit it's been a number of years since I changed the oil on a car myself, and back then I used an old baking tray to catch the oil. I assume there are proper things to do the job, but I couldn't see anything round Halfords and looking online only seems to show up trays of massage oils.

What am I looking for?

Halfords do one, but you are better off getting an old oil can and cutting the front off it, use that and then pour the oil out of the spout.

I'd have to have an old one bigger than the 5L I'm draining out then? Not that I have any.

Should be 4.8L capacity inc the oil in the filter, I seem to remember. You'll never quite get all of it out without flushing the engine.

I use a 5L screenwash PET thing, with the side cut off.

Combination of hot oil & thermoplasticity mean it's a bugger to remove, though.

You can get bespoke trays from a proper motor factors.

I should get one really, since garages are seemingly incapable of changing oil correctly.

But I CBA.

Not using the oil you provide them, not tightening the sump bolt correctly (had that one!), not doing it at all, wrong oil (the spec changes everytime I go in!), etc etc!

Thinking about it, can anyone recommend a good oil flush?
