Default Oil topup

I realise this is probably a bone question but I'll ask it anyway.

The oil level in the car has dropped some and obviously I need to top it up some. The oil change it had at the dealer used a Castrol 0w30. When topping up do I have to use the same type of oil ie Castrol 0w30 or can I use another brand of 0w30?

Thanks for any assistance.

Preferentially yes but I wouldnt get too hung up about it personally.

PS - 0W 30 oil wouldn't be my choice of oil but we wont get into that debate!

Why not stick with Castrol?
Cant be easier to find surely?
As for the viscosity rating, you are only adding a very small amount.
I't wont make one iota of difference.
Besides the viscosity of engine oil that has been used will differ from
that added from a fresh can anyhow. People get way to concerened about this.

Again, i have found after trying all of them.

For my motor, 5w30 castrol Edge FS is the quietest and consumes the least amount with this oil.

I have tried mobile1, shell helix ultra, motul.

Castrol RS is my oil of choice as well.

Bobba - keeping it topped up is way more important than exactly which oil as long as you are talking about good quality branded stuff.

check oil level weekly!!!!!
