Default oil topping up

Using 0w30 fully synthetic, Honda garage filledup with this last time. Getting through 1litre every 4000 miles.

Checked on saturday, Oil at 'L' mark, topped up 1litre, When cold was at top of the top X (i.e. sunday morning), checked today, when engine warm(3 bars normal running). Oil is visable on the dipstick above the top X mark and bellow the 'H' letter, not on it or above it. Will check again tommorrow morning when cold next (going to work soon) .

Will it be ok. Struggling to get an accurate level as dipstick seem's to pull oil up the tube, also it looks to be at different height on either side, is this it rubbing on tube on way up. Normal?

Will everything be ok?

Should i let it go down naturally, should I get it changed immiedatly? ]

HELP

You should always check the oil with a warm engine, after it has stopped for say 5 minutes. You will get different readings between warm and cold, so maybe that is what has been worrying you. I too get a slightly higher oil trace on one side of the dipstick to the other, but it is only very slight. HTH

Don't panic!

If its only slightly above the full line it'll be fine.

Remember the old Scooby boxers.
If you filled them to the top mark when cold, its over when hot.

Over when hot meant it got slurped up and jammed up the valve.
Cue instant boost cut by the safety circuits!

Oil expands a significant amount when hot, for example its density goes from 0.865 @ 20C to 0.81 @100C

over a 5% increase in volume

just checked when I got home, 3 bars temp 10-15 drive, and the oil is above 'X's and the letter H has oil around it, not above or bellow it.

Should i sort it or let it go down naturally? Will there be any lasting damage?

I've had 3 scoobs and never had this kind of problem, Scoob's never used any either, at least this car revs above 5500, bloody lot lighter too, and the roof comes down

Scoobs are a lot more sensitive to oil level as the pistons are sideways due to it being a flat four.

The F20C wont mind it being slightly over the top - it will soon burn it off anyway
