Default Oil Level is not going down!

Ok, so with sports cars your supposed to check your oil weekly. It says this in the guide on this site to.

But, I have nailed my car hard for the last 5 weeks and the oil level has not dropped even 0.1mm. Explain!

you have a newer car, they use less oil. Might use some when the current oil is a little older.

Keep checking though

Post 2004 models hardly use a drop compared to the older models that can drink up to 1 litre per 1000 miles. Mine doesnt use any and its an MY05 but my old MY00 used quite a bit.

Also the early cars only seem to start drinking oil after a few thousand miles IME.

If you were to do oil changes every 3000 miles or so you might not notice any oil consumption

There have also been posts over the years suggesting that the car "uses" synthetics a lot faster than mineral based oils.

My 55 hardly used any in the 2 years I had it.

The 09 isn't going down much either but keep checking it anyway.

New engines dont seem to use much oil.

They can and have failed at very low mileages though.

I prefer a little lost oil myself.

Vtec engines have always been known to use oil but i'd never be concerned if my car didn't use oil. That seems silly to me.
