Oil Filler Cap Stuck
Checking oil weekly religiously as advised and down just a little below acceptable today.
Funnel and Castrol Edge at the ready, but stymied by an oil filler cap that I can't budge by hand-power (this is the first time I've had occasion to try). Un-budgeable with engine either hot or cold.
Forum search throws up lots of loose and lost filler caps (which is most likely explanation for previous conscientious owner doing it up very tight) - but can't find this problem.
Am I missing something obvious, or S2K specific - and if not, any advice on safely loosening it other than a big hammer?
TIA

ive hd this problem with all my previous honda's mate, its because they use an o-ring to seal it,
use a large flat bladed screwdriver and give it a gentle tap
not too hard tho or you'll damage the cap

I've had to help mine along with the use of a hammer, hold the heavy end and "DUNT" the filler cap using the wooden handle gently at first getting firmer as required.

Have you got a oil filter remover? Might be a little more gentle than a tap from a screwdriver? If you have to tap it, use a block of wood with a rag on the end, that won't mark the cap.

The oil filler cap does tighten up of its own accord!
I use a tool which has a rubber strap in a plastic handle. I have a range of three sizes in the garage, and we have one in the kitchen for jars and bottles!
