Oil Consumption ?
Should i be concerned as i recently topped up my oil , and have found that in only 1500 miles my oil check reads half way.
This was taken from a completeley cold reading after standing overnight.
My car is a March 02 and has just completed 16500 miles, and will be due its 18000 service very soon.
I have done some VTEC in 2nd & 3rd , has this dramatically effected my oil usage ?
Is this normal ?
Have other people had to top up very frequently ?

Most S2000s seem to use loads of oil whilst the engine is bedding in, and then only need drip feeding, so at 16500 I wouldn't expect it to be using lots regardless of VTEC (ps, SOME VTEC is not enough !). However there are some cars that do drink it and it's not a problem. What the dealer will in an all likelihood ask you to do is accurately monitor how much oil you put in over a period of time, and if it's excessive I'm sure they'll sort it. It's under warranty - let them worry.
For the moment, I'd just make sure you take a top-up bottle with you everywhere and check oil regularly (as it says in the manual, of course !).
