How much needed after 500 miles?

How old is your car?

15W 50 is a bit too thick for my liking, esp for cold starts.

Stick with what you used originally.

a 5W or 10W 40 would be my advice.

I think I'm running about 7.3w40 now as my last service put in 5w40 and I top up with 10w40 I have spare lying around.
