Is my logic sound regarding clerances and thicker oil?

I was thinking of going from 5w30 to 10w30 as my car has covered 120k.

Thanks

What about the Motul 300v Power stuff Si

I just took reciept of a job lot from you after using your online recommendation tool and then looking at upgrade oils. I was a tad wary because it mentions racing car usage and it also mentions :-

'For engines producing medium fuel dilution in the oil'
Now we are talking! Top stuff, truly top stuff.

Great quality basestocks including a decent slug of ester. Not cheap but then again, the best never is. Only matched by one other oil for quality that we know

This is the best selling performance 5w-40 we have, matches 300V in quality and beats it in price, you get roughly 5L of this for 4L of the 300V. Made in the UK to in Stoke on Trent!

Totally awesome and we've run 1000+ BHP cars on these two oils for up to 5 years now without issues.

Cheers
Simon

I use the 300V, 15W-50 which I purchase from you.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on this?
Great oil, wrong grade............the 5w-40 or 10w-40 would be a better choice

Cheers

Hi,

I currently have my car super charged (impellor speed reaches 55000rpm) and since the oil runs hotter i use REDLINE High Performance Synthetic Motor Oil 10w-40 however would the Silkolene PRO S 5W-40 Ester be more suitable ? (ie cold start)
or should i be looking at something like a 5w/50? (if it exists)
Thanks!

Hi Si, I'm using Silkolene Pro S 5W-30.

It's expensive stuff and it certainly seems to deliver but am I using a hammer to crack a nut? Should I be going for this Castrol EDGE or the Diesel 5W-40 stuff?

Danny
