Thats a relief as I'm sure most people keep a certain amount of oil in an opened container for topping up etc.
I know my local Honda dealer store Castrol oil in an opened 45 gallon drum.
Is there a recommended use by period for opened oil? Castrol give you the made by date but not a use by date!

Is Castrol Edge Sport suppose to be better than the normal Edge? If so, why is the normal Edge more expensive on your site?

I found something on this site saying Mobil 1 would tend to cause the timing chain rattle through not being thick enough. Personally I figured that was , but it has to be said, I only started getting the traditional timing chain rattle on mine after I changed the oil for 0W40 Mobil 1.

I always got on well with Mobil 1 before, but my new engine likes to drink it a lot more. So, without getting all anal about it, is there a simple answer to which oil to buy that will last?

For me, all of the fully synth edge (bar the 10/60 which i havent used) was about the same.

I did try the silkolene pro stuff, but it wasn't as long lasting.

I won't change from edge though.
