Oil
#11
If it's just over don't worry - I did it once and as soon as I vtec'd the engine management light came on . Went off again though as soon as the engine was switched on and off and then just drove carefully until some had burnt off.

Huh?
Just drop the sump plug - not the fecking sump!
Worst case you replace the washer on the plug - but that's not always needed.

Out of interest, WHEN do you check oil on the S2000:-
1) When cold
2) After running the engine for 30secs, then off, then check within 1min (advised to me by dealership for the Integra! Gives time for it to circulate in filter etc.)
3) Warm engine, switch off, wait a 'couple of minutes', then check (specified by the owners manual, but seems very vague and subjective...dependent on time, engine temp, oil viscosity...)
#3 just sounds WRONG, as it's imprecise. But that's what's in the manual. And there can be a BIG difference between 1, 2, and 3.

I have always tended to assume that as long as you do it the same way each time you test, and therefore get a relative measurement compared to last time, that should be OK.

Not totally scientific but it allows the oil to be drawn up from the sump and into the engine, then with a little time for it to drain back into the sump in a warm state.

I used to do a few miles, then drive home and let it stand for 15 mins.
