Sorry to hear about this Mark.

I know exactly the situation you refer to as it happened to me also........luckily it was on the Heyford academy day on an airfield so no damage done; goes to show that these days are very helpful.

As you rightly say, it's good that YOU weren't hurt.

Mark

I see you limped back on the A3?........which roundabout and stretch of road was this...? I'd be interested to know so I can avoid doing the same thing

I took the S out after a 2 week break and forgot what car I was in and had a little bit of a moment.....fortunately there was plenty of room to collect it and no traffic in the vicinity....

I'll second San in his assessment of the airfield days....I had a spin and it was quite violent in it's execution which surprised me

Jesus - quite a few people have done similar things....makes me worried about driving round round-a-bouts.

In my Lotus I used to hammer round them at far greater speeds than I do in my S2000 - still don't feel that confident in the Honda's handling and I have had it a year...maybe the Lotus is easier because it gives better feedback ??

Thanks for all the sympathetic words guys.

Neil - yes it was on a dry road, but like I say I'm not sure if there was maybe something on the road that set the back end off in the first place. Or maybe I just applied the power a little bit too soon to exit the roundabout, and induced power-on oversteer. I guess I'll never know now.

Zero - coming up from the Scilly Isles roundabouts (near Esher) towards the A3 (northbound I think it's the Hook junction?). There's a roundabout about halfway between the traffic lights at Hinchly Wood and the A3 (all dual carriageway) - know the one?? The cambers on that roundabout are a bit twisty turny, but I know it well, which is why I was so surprised to be caught out on it.

Sorry to hear your news. At least you are all OK.
The insurance premium might hurt a little but it will be a lot less than what the insurance company will be paying to get it fixed so at least you are getting your value for money out of your insurance.

It worries me a bit (as a new owner) to hear that so many people have had moments! in the thier cars. I guess I need to maintain respect for it.

Anyone know what Chris Type R means when he talks about 'a traditional LSD bite moment'?? And what should you do about it when it happens?

this thread has been food for thought for me as a future owner.
