oh no my badge is not buff
Hello all,
After cleaning my new motor at the weekend i couldnt help but notice a few problems.
I cant be specific but is look like salt glaze or some kind of corrosion is starting to appear on some of the shiney metal bits (or maybe metal look bits).
It looks very simalar to when ice forms on the airoplane window. look like its under the top surface so i cant get at it. Ive got it on the wheel centre cap badge and on the sill plates. Im abit disappointed as is still new at looks as though is going to spread further.
If any one else has suffered this problem i would be interested to hear from you and if it can be prevented.

I don't know if this helps, but here goes anyway...
I've had similar problems with the fuel cap on the Fiat Coupe. It is notorious for this white corrosion, when the lacquer is breached.
The accepted method to remedy this is to get rid of the lacquer by dipping in Nitromors & cleaning with sugar soap. Then tidy up the metal with a decent metal polish/fine wet n dry, then give it a good wax.
