Damn!! Sorry to hear about this.

I don't suppose it's any consolation, but the winter mayhem has started on the CTR Board too. This one was rolled on the motorway. We're not sure, but we think the guy aquaplaned. He walked away without a scratch!

So where was that advice when I needed it???

dws2000 - you're spot on, I think. I certainly would have hit the wall head on if I'd taken no avoiding action, trouble is I didn't lock back the other way quickly enough when the car started swinging in the opposite direction and at that point I can't really recall what happened except it seemed to go on forever - long enough for me to manage about 20 four letter words, at least

Another thing I didn't mention is that the road is off camber, so the driver's side wheel is unloaded. I think it's the lack of grip on that side that caused power to be transferred to the other, where there just wasn't enough grip either??

It is only a car and it will be fixed - maybe I can get a new pair of rear shocks out of this? I was thinking of having them replaced, so the excess I pay might represent a bargain!

Anyway, less vtec means more time to work on the dvd, which is what I've been doing all evening

First of all, bad luck and I hope you get this sorted.

Second, a couple of comments about the LSD:-

It transfers power to whichever wheel has more grip, this much I think we all agree on. However this sounds like a simple case of hitting standing water and having the car drift. The weather has been atrocious here and the amount of standing water on the roads is incredible, you say yourself there were rivers running across the road and I'm not so sure the LSD played a part (unless you were accellerating in the corner when you lost a bit of traction on one wheel, but I assume you were on a balanced throttle). More likely I think is that the laws of physics took over and you lost some grip from the rear.

What really did for you, as you know was the over correction, Don Palmer will give you the knowledge you need in this respect, although on the road, when it happens so suddenly, I suspect it's still very difficult to switch into 'Don' mode.

Of course, we're all guessing, since none of us were there but you, but it seems to be common for people to blame the LSD for things it is not responsible for.

I remember your reg from SM3. It was the one where it pissed it down really badly and on one particular stretch you nailed it past Mrs CC and I.

I thought it very funny, Mrs CC, said 'oooooh he's going fast, he may crash'.

Well....... I suppose its a 2 year belated told you so from my wife.

But the mash is very nice - I'll update 'the list' this evening.
