Surely if an alloy is not fitted to the hub properly it would wobble like crazy and not be drivable at all?

For info, my F1 Assy's wore like that with that lip down the centre of the tyre, I thought it was strange as well.

Having done it, no, not necessarily.
Sometimes its very slight, on the Renault I had there was a lot of corrosion around the inner of the alloy.
I bolted it up and torqued it but some crud got behind.
There was hardly any vibration but you could see the tyre smoothing off it was so obvious.

Shocking that, expensive way of finding out the wheel is not on right!

The tyres (eagle f1 assymetrics) arn't directional, i.e. you can have them on either side. (The eagle f1 gsd3's are directional).

Cheers m1bjr, I'll be more thorough about checking the innner face of the wheel and suchlike.

Tony at WIM has said exactly that, that these tyres wear like this for some reason.

Weird that only one side has worn like that - they also exhibit strange wear patterns on other cars too, none of the Falkens i've had have ever done this even if outright grip is not quite so good.

Yea, though maybe by the time the other tyre gets down to ~3mm or so it'll reveal the same central line. I think maybe it's somthing in the tyre it'self.

It looks like some sort of moulding line to me but I am no tyre expert!
