No problem

The instructions are comprehensive if you need them, although it's fairly obvious where the bits 'n' pieces reside.

I imported mine from the US (eBay) for just under £200 all in

b - be beneficial?
c - make even more luvverly noise?
d - be possible to fit without adapting bonnet?

a - Yes
b - Debatable...helped to prevent kangarooing when I had one fitted with an OEM air box. IIRC, Irvatron had a similar setup before he went FI.
c - Oh yes
d - Yes...the bonnet catch might need to be adjusted, depending on which snorkel you have. At worst, the bonnet will suffer some scuffing on the underside, as will the snorkel.

Hooray - more toys then!

Taking the missus to Bluewater tomorrow - might mention the extra bits I've ordered after she's bought a few things.....

Yup, bottle neck was removed and both ends where enlarged and 'cupped' in a effort to supply more air to the entire surface area of the filter.

The reason why I fitted a snorkel and modified the design was because a) there is a bottle neck where the snorkel passes under the bonnet, b) IMHO i dont believe the K&N gets sufficient enough air from the fender hole and suffers a little from heatsoak sometimes, c) an effort to RAM 'cold' air onto the filter which it collected from a lower point on the car.

WRT to the above, you cant 'further' cool incoming air, and the car can only take in a certain amount of air at a given period of time, there was some equation i found on a website but i didn't have the tools/equipment to put this theory in practice and prove it .

I did however monitor my IAT temps and they dropped quicker and seemed to cool more quickly than before.

Take what you will from the above, its maybe a placebo but i 'think' it did feel better, I managed to squeeze 'just' shy of 260BHP out of my car with most bolt on's and crude piggyback .

Bah - ordered it 8 days ago from POTN to be told I'd get within 2-3 days, and no sign of it.

So got a refund from them and ordered from DC Performance instead

I've had...

* Gutted box, drop-in K&n filter and snorkle
* K&n FIPK with Snorkle
* AEM V2

In my opinion and an ex girlfriends opinion the AEM sounded better.
I have this too, well a clone ... it sounds awesome!

well all this talk of air boxes etc i went away and did my research and i know have a Comp tech ice box on its way to me from the states.

do you guys reckon its possible to rig up a makeshift snorkel of some kind with the comp tech.

i took peoples advice on the FIPK idea but prefered the look and design of the comp tech. thanks to all those who contributed in my PRM thread.
