Drop links £620! Sure I could get non Honda links at £100 for all 4, yep a couple of hours easy on the driveway to change, less if you have a disc cutter to get the old ones out.

Get out and start enjoying them
I couldnt put mine through the MOT. Engine management light was on. Either low quality fuel or the aftermarket cat that went on last year. (Hopefully not the latter). I did put some new super in and for now light has gone out.
Also when being serviced the health check flagged drop link dust covers all perished and in need of replacement. Plus some lugs missing. Honda have quoted £620 to do front and back. Seems to be 2hrs labor plus parts.
What are peoples thoughts on that price?

You can buy drop links at £10 a corner, it might take 2-3hrs DIY. i have done a lot of them, just smash the bar off with a hammer and then grip the ball head with mole grips. I was quoted £190 to replace both on the Qashqai before we sold, I did one, took 20 minutes and cost £12. S is harder as there is less room

If the nuts don't want to come off, then get some MAP gas and heat them till they are cherry red. They will come off quite easily then.

Very timely, I did my rear drop-links last Saturday (fronts were done last year). As above, eBay or aftermarket is the way to go, £620 is just ridiculous. For info, I got my rears from eBay and they were a shade over £25.
They were a pain to get off, even after the approved method of smashing the ball joint cover off but after a good deal of swearing and a few cups of tea, they were defeated.

Well done for persevering.
I did mine too with the help of extra pair of hands. I went for the drop links on Tegiwa which came to about £116. All done and happy I didnt pay honda £620...
The car has now passed its MOT (Mileage 43,689). Although not all smooth sailing. Dash threw up EML on a couple of occasions which I had to clear. I suspect after market cat that went on last august to be the culprit. Mechanic just about got it through emissions test.

My own sails through (still on original O2) but the boosted one is a challenge usually
oh and good work by the way!

Okay, next year ill make sure I do that. My journey to test center didn't give me any opportunity to floor it (traffic etc). Plus I couldn't deviate and make the drive longer really as the vehicle wasn't taxed (due no MOT)..

Just passed to today one advisory , scuff noted on near side brake flexible hose ! I most likely did that last year , need a new HEL red hose. Nothing else of note even though the guy looked closely for me as I self service the car now so it’s good to have a 2 nd pair of eyes cast over it. He laughingly said front plate technically illegal , lol very questionable to be honest and he wasent really bothered.
Did notice near side rear was down on air , though ah another screw outside my workshop, but no , was a leak from bead on rim , most likely due to car not moving for about 6 months in garage , they whipped tyre off, cleaned rim and bead and refitted , all ok . Might Jack and block car next

MOT day, Pass but been suggested I wire brush and treat some underbody sections. Bigger surprise was only 1894 miles since last year, ok thinking about it broke my thumb start of March and minimal driving for a few months, using her car as power steering easier but sub 2k miles! Must do better.
