I'm looking at refurbing the calipers on my MY07 but then someone mentioned just buying already refurbed calipers off the bay.

So I look on the bay and see a number of traders flogging refurbed calipers at fairly low cost (which straight away makes me suspicious, I'm already dubious about anything car related from the bay but on this occasion if I can find OEM parts that have been refurbed from an honest source then that'll do).

I then notice that virtually all the ads I look at are advertising the caliper for the Civic as well as the S2000? Does the Civic use the very same caliper?

I also note the caliper's are made by 'Nissin' Is this an OEM part? Did Honda have a third party make the calipers for the S2000?

Any pointers as to a reputable source for all 4 calipers would be appreciated. PM me if you need to post a link to certain sites that are'nt compatible with this forum

The calipers are slightly different I think (there was a thread recently regarding the part numbers IIRC)

I'm 99.9% sure the original calipers are nissin. I bought a nissin refurbished front caliper with a 2 year warranty and pressure test cert. from eBay. Turned up very quick. Cost about £64 delivered and got £15 back for my old one. They even included new rubber boots for the slide bolts.

I've had a couple of calipers from JRT and they were good, with quick delivery. Going back to the refurb idea, I now have 4 spare calipers and want to get them refurbed before the ones on the car start sticking. Can anyone recommend anywhere? I have found the following:

I refurbed my first set of calipers with new seals and pistons. A real PITA job and they lasted just over a year. Then I bought re-furbs I can't remember where from though). 2 years on, they're still fine.

I have a set of CTR calipers on my S2000. They are indeed made by Nissin (as are pretty much every brake caliper on a Honda).

I can safely say that the serial number on the caliper of the CTR one and the one that came with the car is IDENTICAL. Please note that the newer EP3 calipers (that had 'Type-R' cast into them are indeed a different serial number. They'd still fit though.
