OEM Alarm and Bonnet switch problem
Can anyone help me out?
Im trying to remove the loom from my '00 S2000 and it is fitted with the factory alarm and immobiliser. After trying to remove the loom from the engine bay I have run into a problem. I have the alarm siren mounted on the side of the engine bay in the normal place and the connection to the loom here is shared with what I think is the bonnet closed/open sensor which runs to the front bulkhead of the engine bay?
The problem i'm having is that the hole in the chassis where the loom runs through (to the side and lower to the brake booster and brake fluid reservoir) that connects the drivers foot-well to the engine bay through a grommet is too small to allow the alarm siren to go through it and on the other side there is a mysterious small flat black box that is too big to pass the other way. Both ends are soldered into the siren and this small black box so i cant remove either end to get it through. I am wondering if the bonnet switch is perhaps the other end of the black box and not the alarm siren but to find that out id have to strip the ribbed plastic coating on the loom and if anyone can tell me which it is that would help A LOT.
Can anyone shed any light on this? It would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks
