OEM AIr box
I like the noise of running with the lid of but dont like the look under the bonnet.
Not really bothered about buying a new CAI, but was wondering what the big baffle in the middle of the box actually does and if removed does it alter the noise ?

I've seen a lot of people remove it, but i've not seen anyone mention what it's there for!
Which should be an important part of the decision...
I suspect it's meant to create a pressure drop pre the filter?

I've just done this and can recommend it for the noise alone.
I went the next step further and had the exhaust resonator removed too.
Best £50 I've spent in a long while. Car sounds like a mini Ferrari and there's no sign of any drone at any speed. It now sound wonderful.

you can also plug the small rectangular hole feeding the resonating chamber of the airbox, do it with a bit of tape first see if you notice/like the difference

Isn't that baffle just an extra safety feature against the water coming into the filter?!?
I've taken it out and blocked the resonator hole and it does sound a bit better, and not as chavvy as taking the lid off completely
