Default OEM 16" Tyre Advice

Hi All,

just after a bit of advice really reference tyres on the 16" stock wheels.
Im selling my TE37s next weekend and i need to put my 16s back on for a few months.
I know the standard sizing is 205/55 - 225/50 but im a bit concerned about the rears, i can't see my self putting it down down with 400bhp?
I can just see this ending up pretty unsafe at that size. Has anyone else got/had a similar setup with similar power? if not what would you recommend changing the rears to? 235/245 seems to be pretty rare to find too, unless i end up paying an arm and a leg for a set.

thanks

Rim width will prescribe tire width. I don't think the OEM 16" wheels go much beyond 225mm.

You're gonna get wheel spin regardless with 400hp.

The max width you can go is 245/45/16, your choice is limited though, I think just Toyo T1 or R888 in that size.

I drive a TVR T350c on 225/16s with 360bhp/1100kilo, it's fine. Re002 bridgestones.

I'm getting some RE002's fitted tomorrow, standard 16" sizes from f1 auto centres. All in, under three hundred squids.
