Odd buzzing sound
This morning I jumped into the car for the first time in a couple of weeks and it was dead - typical flat battery, electrics all work - just won't start so this evening I gave it a jump start (its around due for a new battery soon anyway so not too much of a worry). But I went out for a long drive came back 30 minutes later, switched off the car and was standing next to it talking to the neighbour and I can hear an on/off buzzing noise (kind of like a phone on vibrate) coming from somewhere behind the rear right wheel arch.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be - is that where the fuel pump is? Could it be knackered?
Any help appreciated...
Cheers

Is it about 1/4 full of squirt?
Does it sound like a bees' nest/ cows a-lowing?
It's the activated charcoal vapour control system. Relese the pressure from the fuel filler cap and it'll stop.
There are no bees or cows in your fuel tank, so you shouldn't get stung.
(Cow's stings can be very painful)

About half full I guess. More bees than cows I reckon - I had no idea the car was so, er, organic
How the hell do you find this stuff out Nick?
Thanks tho, I'll give it a crack...

I went into my garage one hot summer's evening...
We get some huuuge bees round our way (they like the laurels particularly) but I couldn't find them.
Eventually worked out what it was, since it is dependent on fuel level (it's probably 1/3-1/2 full; you're right) and ambient temperature.
