However, I live in an equally nice area, unfortunately(flamesuit on) when you build a development these days you HAVE to build lo cost housing also if the development is over a certain size. Our neighbours are of the lo cost variety - Im pretty sure I dont have much in common hence have made no effort to socialise with them as such

I understand - all my neighbours are relatively affluent, its only the high number of tenants (some of them students - god knows how they can afford the rents) that cause problems in my estate.

to put you in the picture so far we have had: matress in the front garden of their house for about a month rotting, a sierra being fixed at midnight on the road, engine reving, shouting all sorts of comotion, fences broken down by the son who prefers to climb over it rather than use the gate etc etc.........
It may be non-PC, but if you act like scum - you are scum IMHO.

Thank god I have no neighbours like that

I had to

I can remember having two old wrecks in my front garden as a newly married 25 yo. One was a Midget shell in primer yellow on stands! They were a right state but I never thought anything of it. The back garden was a tip too - but we just didn't have the money to sort everything out quickly.

I currently have three wrecks in my garden - the only difference is that they are now hidden from view.

Perhaps I haven't moved on as far as I like to think.

To quote a phrase from the movie Snatch. "I hate pikies"

There is a pikey (sorry traveller) site on the A27 between Shoreham and Lancing called 'Withy Patch'.

This is a no-go area for anyone local - including the police, TV licence inspectors etc etc.........

They've recently cleared bushes around the site and a new sign caught my eye:

'No parking. Authorised vehicles only'

Now that's what I call ironic.

Makes me glad to live where I do. I've had neighbour trouble myself when I lived in Maidenhead, I find that going not just one better but several times seems to work, fortunately where I live now we all get on, I'm very lucky.
One neighbour is teaching me to play guitar in return for hay and straw for his kid's rabbits. One neighbour is a traffic cop which is useful for finding out locations of mobile traps, his wife is the local doctor, handy for medecines out of surgery hours, my next-door neighbour has every power tool known to man - sometimes I feel like Homer Simpson next to them all, nothing much to offer except the wit and wisdom I posess

Oh, and I hate pikeys too.....

Far too much experience when I was younger with the buggers.....I like to see the best in most groups of people, but I have no time for pikeys at all.
