Graham - was the old git driving a beat up old sierra?
I had similar one where the old git admitted fault at the incident (he backed into me in a carpark) - but the cheeky guy then filled in his full comprehensive claim form - indicating I was to blame. I then got chased by Zurich Insurance for "their" loss for about 1 year. They were unbeliveable, that did not listen to a word I said or a thing I wrote. They made no effort to find the witness or anything - they even were cheeky enough to point out my "odds" of winning a court case if I so desired. They said, they trusted what their client wrote on the claim form as a correct account of what happened. I made a counter claim against them for the damage to my car (which I had never repaired) and eventually convinced them to settle totally in my favour after having an expert from a garage to show how the side impact on my door had to come from me being hit rather than the other way around - at which point I asked them if they were going to contact the Police for insurance fraud by their client? no answer - but they should have done it just to put the wind up him. One of the reasons premiums are so high is because of the fraud like this.
