There are numerous specialist rubber and silicon lubricants such as Holts. Spray onto a clean cloth & rub in.
KY is water soluble, so will be embarrasing when it rains.
Petroleum jelly rots the seals and they are hideously expensive.
If the seals are not treated regularly on all S2K's (like all convertibles) they will perish and lead to such problems.
