Default Noise from rear (?) of car when pulling off

So when I switch on, or switch from 1st to reverse or vice versa, I get a "clunk" noise of variable loudness just once as the car starts to pull away. Been doing it for a few days now... no clunks once in motion, or when pulling off if the car hasn't changed "direction" since the last clunk.

Sounds as if it's coming from the rear of car, but hard to tell - think I need to go spend a while in a car park going backwards/forwards to establish a pattern - probably going to book it in with Honda MK for a look-see later this week.

Anyone got any ideas what this could be, or heard of this issue before?

Brilliant, thanks guys. As she's still under warranty for a little while, I'll go get it done for free - thanks for the pointers, I have something to suggest now

Hub nuts definitely by your description. I had some new one's from the GB years ago I bought on the off chance that mine would go one day and when it started making 'that' noise I got my dealer to swap them over and re-torque them up and noise gone .

Personally I think it would be better to get new one's and push for this if it's still under warranty.

Thanks Ads, wish I'd read your post before yesterday ... she went into the dealer for an hour, and all was sorted under warranty.

Sounds fine now.... but will be keeping my eye on it.
